Natabua High School sprinter Batinisavu Uluiyata who has pulled out from the Team Athletics Fiji has signed a two year contract with the Rugby Club Toulon Academy in France.

In an interview with Fijivillage Uluiyata says it was a tough decision since he has been preparing for the Pacific Games.

The 18-year-old says he caught the attention of the Toulon selectors with his pace during a trial in Nadi last month.

He is expected to start at the Academy on the 3rd of next month.

Uluiyata will be joining the same club as former Nadroga players, Sunia Koto and Sakiusa Vata and the former All Blacks and Hurricanes player the late Jerry Collins.

Meanwhile, the Shop and Save Athletics Fiji is in the process of getting former Marist Brothers High School long distance runner Ratutira Narara to replace Uluiyata for the Pacific Games.

The Pacific Games will be held from the 4th to the 18th of next month in PNG.
