The Vodafone Fiji Bati side has a good chance to progress to the qualifying semifinal stages of the Rugby League World Cup next year.

This is after they were handed an easy draw for next year's tournament in Australia.

Fiji is in Pool B with France and Scotland. Team Manager Rusiate Ratakele said they have beaten France before, have never played against Scotland, and as a result it puts them in a good position to advance into the knockout stages.

Meanwhile, Pool A looks to be the deadliest with Australia, England, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea.

Pool C has Tonga and Ireland, who will be joined by either Samoa or Lebanon.

The Rugby League World cup will be held next year in October.
