The Pacific Games athletics competition starts today with the highlights being the shot put and javelin finals.
Meanwhile the Fiji men’s Basketball team is all geared up for the quarterfinal match against the Federated States of Micronesia tonight.
Fiji has had a successful outing in all their pool games and players have been reminded to lift their performance as FSM will be a tough opponent.
One of the outstanding players in the team is Johnny Seruvatu who said their coaching staffs have drawn a strategy for the match.
The Fiji and FSM game will start at 6pm.
Looking at the medal tally, New Caledonia still maintains first spot with 50 gold, 43 silver and 15 bronze while Tahiti is second with 22 gold, 11 silver and 11 bronze.
Fiji is in third spot with 13 gold, 15 silver and 22 bronze medals.
All of Fiji’s gold medals have all come from Karate and Shooting.
