Basketball Fiji is hopeful that Fiji will be able to host the Under 19 World Basketball Championship next year.
Basketball Fiji President, Brigadier General Iowane Naivalurua said after the general elections next year they are hopeful to bring this International tournament to Fiji in December next year.
Meanwhile, 700 secondary school students are set to take part in the Tuckers Ice Cream Fiji Secondary Schools Basketball Championship next week.
61 teams will take part in the Under 15, 17 and 19 grade competition from next Monday to Friday at the Vodafone Arena and the FMF Gymnasium.
Goodman Fielder has provided $20,000 sponsorship for the championship.
