One of the minor sports in Team Fiji for the Pacific Games the Baseball team will travel to Noumea to try and win their first ever medal.

Manager, Takao Mochida said that they have been preparing since September with a goal to do better than the 2007 results where they finished on the 4th spot.
 
Mochida added that since the introduction of the sport in the country it is progressing very slowly from 2003 where the finished on the 6th spot but he is confident they can reach the top 3 this year.

Meanwhile, Fiji soccer team preparing for the Pacific Games is expected to play friendly matches with Samoa at Thomson Park in Navua. Women’s team will play at 11am and Mens team will face Samoa men’s team at 1pm.

The Pacific Games in Noumea will start next Saturday.
