Pacific sprint king, Banuve Tabakaucoro won his third gold medal at the Pacific Mini Games in Wallis and Futuna after helping the 4x400 metres relay team to victory.

Banuve was the third lap runner in a team which included Suva Grammar School star Kemueli Waqa, Natabua High School duo Batinisavu Uluiyata and Epeli Batisila.

The Bau bullet set a new record of 21.13seconds in the 200 metres which was five-hundredths of a second better than his previous Pacific record set in New Caledonia in 2011.

Tabakaucoro could have collected another gold medal as he anchored the winning 4x100metres relay team but they were disqualified because of a technicality.

In a Digicel Fiji statement, CEO Maurice McCarthy said they are extremely happy for what Banuve has achieved at the Mini Games and they are proud to be supporting the Pacific "sprint king'," added McCarthy.
