Coca Cola Games 2009 Best Male Athlete, and Marist Brothers High School Intermediate Boys sprinter Banuve Tabakaucoro is vying for a place for the Mini Games in the Cook Islands later this year.
After breaking the record in the Inter Boys 100 metres stopping the clock at 10.71 seconds, Tabakaucoro said he is confident he will make it, but competition will come from Iliesa Namosimalua and Niko Verekauta.
Tabakaucoro also created history in the Coca Cola Games, as it was the first time for an Intermediate Grade athlete to win the Best Male Athlete in the competition.
The Mini Pacific Games will be held in the Cook Islands in September.
