Banuve eyes fastest man title
Tabakaucoro clocked a time of 11.02 seconds in the heats with his closest threat being Papua New Guinea’s Ruwan Gunasinghe who clocked a time of 11.04 seconds last night.
Fiji Athletics President Albert Miller is confident that both Tabakaucoro and Nikotimo Radiva will be in the final tonight.
Miller said the focus is about winning the gold medal in the blue ribbon.

The semifinals will start at 5.40pm with the final at 8.30pm.
The women’s 100 metre final will start at 8pm where Sisilia Seavula is one of the top favorites after clocking a time of 12.45 seconds while fellow sprinter Paulini Korowaqa will also be in the final after clocking a time of 12.63 seconds.
PNG’s Wisil Toea clocked the fastest time of 12.25 seconds in the heats.
In other games today, the Fiji men’s beach volleyball team beat Cook Islands by 2 straight sets while the women’s team beat Niue.
Elina Nasaudrodro will face Rosa Deloi in the women’s judo final in the 57kg category at 5.20pm while in the 81kg men’s division Josateki Naulu will be up against New Caledonian Yohan Cowtine.
Looking at the medal tally: New Caledonia maintains the lead with 67 gold, 55 silver and 26 bronze, Tahiti is second with 30 gold, 18 silver and 16 bronze.
Fiji is third with 16 gold, 18 silver and 25 bronze medals.
