Banuve breaks tradition
The officials at the Coca Cola Games broke the tradition as the Best Male athlete always went to the Senior Grade, but this year they thought it fit to go to Banuve after he broke the record in the 100 metres in a time of 10.71 seconds, which meant that he also broke the Senior Boys 100 metres record which stood at 10.74 seconds.
Speaking to Fijivillage News Banuve said that he is looking forward to next years meet where he hopes to break the record again.
Meanwhile, Suva Grammar captain, Remesio Lala dedicates the win to Coach Jone Delai and the Grammar parents for their continued support.
Suva Grammar retain their title with 14 Gold, 5 Silver and 1 Bronze. 2nd is RKS with 4 Gold 7 Silver and 3 Bronze. 3rd is Natabua High School with 4 Gold, 4 Silver and 4 Bronze.
For the girls, Adi Cakobau School retain their title for a 9th year in a row with 13 Gold, 7 Silver and 4 Bronze. 2nd is Suva Grammar with 8 Gold, 5 Silver and 3 Bronze with Nadarivatu coming in 3rd with 4 Gold and 2 Silver.
