We have in the past and will always continue to look with understanding at cases of hardships.

This is the response from the Association of Banks Chairman Greg Watson on the call by the Governor of the Reserve Bank Sada Reddy for all financial institutions to assist in the quick recovery of the economy by assisting those affected financially after Tropical Cyclone Mick.

Watson said Banks in Fiji have always taken into consideration the hardships faced by their customers during a natural disaster and as each situation is different, each bank will need to assess what assistance might best be provided to those in genuine need.

Reserve Bank Governor Sada Reddy had yesterday called on financial institutions to assist those affected by Cyclone Mick by making temporary adjustments to repayments and to extend credit for replanting and business resumptions.
