The Fiji Bank and Finance Sector Employees Union celebrated its 40th Anniversary at Suva's Civic Center this afternoon.
While addressing union members during their Annual General Meeting, Union President Sailesh Naidu highlighted difficult times some union members have been facing since the events of December 5th, 2006.
Naidu added that some institutes are delaying and others are failing to negotiate with them on their demands and no explanations have been given.
He added that since 1987, the major races in the country have failed to unite.
The union's annual report was also read which revealed that the union made over $88,000 profit this year compared to a deficit of $39,000 last year.
During the meeting it was revealed that Pramod Rae has been re-elected unopposed national secretary of the union for another four years.
