Bank Activates Disaster Relief Package
The Bank has announced it would donate $50,000 towards the flood relief efforts and the funds will be split equally between Fiji Red Cross Society and Salvation Army relief appeal.
Westpac General Manager Fiji Islands, John Cashmore said they have activated the Disaster Relief Package which offers practical help by providing some immediate financial relief to customers that have lost out in the floods. He said this include suspended repayments, restructuring of loans and Term Deposits without penalties.
He said relief package offers the option for customers to suspend repayments on their Westpac Home Loans and Personal Loans for upto three months, Business Customers to request loan restructuring without incurring the usual establishment fees and term deposits customers to terminate without the Early Termination fee penalty.
Meanwhile, ANZ Fiji today also announced a number of initiatives to assist customers impacted by flooding across Fiji over the last three days.
ANZ CEO Central Pacific, Robert Bell said many ANZ customers both business and personal had been affected by the flooding.
He said for business customers adversely affected by flooding, ANZ is offering to establish interest only repayments on loans for upto three months.
Bell adds for personal customers ANZ is also offering to establish interest-only repayments on loans for upto three months. He also said that they will also waive any fees associated with breaking existing term deposits if families need immediate access to cash.
