A 30 year old Bangladesh National now declared an illegal immigrant, is detained at the Labasa Police station awaiting deportation.
Assistant Police Spokesperson Sergeant Suliano Tevita confirmed that the 30 year old man was arrested by police officers yesterday at a spare parts shop, where the 30 year old man was working for some time.
Sergeant Tevita said Police carried out the arrest after receiving information that the 30 year old had arrived in Fiji on a visitor’s visa in 2008 but was still in the country despite his visa expiring in May, last year.
The Bangladeshi is expected to be deported soon.
