The Fiji Human Rights Commission has confirmed receiving a formal complaint from the Baleiloa family regarding the alleged assault of Josefa Baleiloa landing the escapee in critical condition at CWM hospital.
Director and Chairperson Dr Shaista Shameem has confirmed to Fijivillage that they have received a complaint and an investigation is currently underway into the matter.
The victim's father Nimilote Baleiloa had confirmed earlier that his other children had taken the matter up with the Commission.
Speaking to Fijivillage, Nimilote Baleiloa said his son will not be able to live a normal life because of the injuries he's got.
Meanwhile, the Interim Defense Minister Ratu Epeli Ganilau who has visited Baleiloa in hospital has told the family that he has ordered an investigation to be carried out into the matter.
