Baledrokadroka Walks Free
The director of the Public Prosecutions' Office decided to withdraw the charges against former Land Force Commander Jone Baledrokadroka due to insufficient evidence.
The High Court had given time to the DPP's office to reassess the charges laid against Baledrokadroka after which submissions were made by DPP lawyer Seini Puamau.
Baledrokadroka's lawyer Akuila Naco told Fijivillage that when Ballu Khan was acquitted, the High Court had advised the DPP to reassess the charges laid on Baledrokadroka, saying that the evidence produced was not sufficient.
Meanwhile, eight other accused Ratu Inoke Takiveikata, Fehoko Gadekibua, Barbados Mills, Eparama Waqatairewa, Kamanieli Vosavere, Pauliasi Namulo, Sivaniolo Naulago, Metuisela Mua will appear in court on the 23rd January.
