A balanced Fiji team will carry the hopes of the nation in the New Zealand and USA Sevens tournaments.

Five players have been retained for the Digicel Fiji Sevens team from the winning Gold Coast Sevens team while the ever consistent and hard-hitting captain Setefano Cakau is back and so is Nadroga’s Nemani Nagusa.

The five players who are still part of the team are Joji Ragamate, Ilai Tinai, Ulaiasi Lawavou, Manueli Lagai and Samisoni Viriviri.

Five players are definitely over the moon at the moment as they will represent Fiji for the first time in the IRB Sevens Series.

They are Red Rock captain Jasa Veremalua, Wardens hooker Jone Vota, Lomaiviti Barbarians players Manasa Nayagi and Benito Eremasi and former Ratu Navula College Under 18 and Westfield Babas centre Josua Tuisova.

The message from captain Cakau to all the rugby fans in the country is that the team will work hard to deliver a win next weekend.
