former Prime Minister Laisenia Qarase revealed the behaviour of coup leader and interim Prime Minister Frank Bainimarama is causing a crisis in the region.

Qarase made the comments at Marrickville Town Hall before a crowd of more than 300 members of the Sydney Fijian community.

The SDL leader was interviewed by Radio Australia, after Commodore Bainimarama claimed Australia, New Zealand and Samoa were the only countries to support the Pacific Islands Forum Leader's decision to suspend Fiji if it does not announce an election date by May 1st.

Qarase told the Sydney crowd that the Forum had made an unanimous stand in favour of an election in Fiji this year and as a result the regime was now portraying Fiji's traditional friends in the Pacific especially Australia and New Zealand, as enemies.

Meanwhile, he was placing his hopes on the President's Political Dialogue process which to be mediated by UN and Commonwealth.
