The Soqosoqo Vakamarama President, Adi Finau tabakaucoro said Commodore Bainimarama has the power to amend the GCC regulation as he pleases as he is not only the Interim Prime Minister but the Interim Minister for Indigenous Affairs as well.
Speaking to Village news, Adi Finau said despite the fact that many disagree with the move by Cabinet to appoint Bainimarama as the Chairman of the GCC, the final decision lies with those in power.
Meanwhile the Ra Provincial Council will be calling a Bose Vanua of the chiefs of Ra soon to discuss two important issues which are major topics of discussion in the country.
Ra Provincial Council Chairman Ratu Meli Bolobolo said the two issues are very sensitive and these deal with the appointment of Commodore Bainimarama as GCC Chairman and Dr M Krishnamurthi's report on the proposed de-reservation of native land.
Ratu Meli, who is also a member of the National Council for Building a Better Fiji, said he cannot comment further until the Ra chiefs are consulted.
