The Interim Prime Minister will attend the 17th Melanesian Spearhead Group (MSG) leaders summit in Vanuatu this week.

The Ministry of Information in a press statement said Commodore Bainimarama will use the opportunity to brief the MSG leaders of Fiji's situation and the progress Fiji is making towards parliamentary democracy.

Bainimarama will also have meetings with the leaders of Vanuatu, the Solomon Islands and Papua New Guinea before the meeting proper.

He will also meet the Fiji students studying at the Vanuatu Emalus Law School of USP and the Fiji community in Vanuatu.

This will be the first MSG meeting for Commodore Bainimarama to attend in his capacity as the Interim Prime Minister of Fiji.
