Interim Prime Minister, Frank Bainimarama last night made the comment following his participation at the Global Travel and Tourism Summit in Dubai, at the invitation of Sheik Mohammed Bin Rasheed Al Maktoum, the Ruler of Dubai and the Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates.

Bainimarama said several important issues were discussed with prominent tourism industry personalities on the possibility of exploring and further developing investment, trade and economic relationships with the United Arab Emirates.

He added that the success of Dubai demonstrated that travel and tourism can be a factor for growth, for jobs, trade and investment.

The summit was attended by more than 1,000 delegates including 43 government ministers.

Bainimarama returns to Fiji on Friday, 2nd May.
