The New Zealand Prime Minister said Commodore Frank Bainimarama's comments with regards to Australia and New Zealand and their influence on the Forum recommendations were expected.
John Keys said Australia and NZ are fond of the people of Fiji and want to see democracy return to Fiji adding there was universal support amongst the 16 island countries of the Forum to come to the recommendations set out in the communique.
On Bainimarama's support in Fiji, Keys said it's hard to tell adding that what they do know is that the economy has deteriorated which has started to wane public support.
Keys added the ultimatum set is not the most draconian measure that the Forum has taken.
