Bail application should be refused-State lawyer
Bai is charged with attempted murder and rape and is alleged to have raped a class three student, who was found unconscious in the school toilet and he allegedly punched the victim before sexually assaulting her.
Madanavosa told the court that Bai was examined by a medical doctor on the 31st March and on the 19th of this month and according to his findings, there were no visible injuries and no evidence of trauma which was confirmed and signed by Dr Ranjeet Singh on the medical report.
She claims that Bai's allegations are not true.
In court yesterday, Bai gave evidence and showed the court the injuries he suffered from the assault by strike back officers while he was in custody.
Meanwhile the marks shown were on his left leg, left thigh and left arm.
Madanivosa also highlighted in court why Bai did not make any complaints to the prison officers about his beddings which Bai said it was not changed for a few weeks.
Madanivosa told Bai whether he had made an attempt to ask the officers, Bai replied the officers would not listen to him.
Meanwhile defence counsel, Barbara Malimali in her submission is challenging whether the rape offence really took place.
Judge Gounder will deliver his ruling on the bail application next Wednesday at 10.30am.
Bai has been further remanded at the Korovou Prison.
