A 1 year 1 month old baby drowned in a fish pond in a village in Rewa yesterday.

According to police the parents of the baby left him with the grandmother and went out fishing.

The baby went missing after some time and a search was conducted.

His body was found floating in the fish pond located a few metres away from the house.

The drowning toll for this year now stands at two compared to five during the same period last year.

Police have once again reminded parents to be more vigilant and not to leave their children alone.
