The Baby Flying Fijians Under 20 side will now meet Wales again for the 7th and 8th place in the Junior World Championship in Argentina after they were thumped 44-9 by France in the 5th and 6th playoff.

Fiji and Wales were grouped together in Pool A during the pool games where they lost 31-3 to Wales.

Against the French, the Severo Domoni captained side had to rely on the boots of fly-half Josh Matavesi who kicked three penalties against their opponents who crossed Fiji's try line on five occasions.

Fiji's performance in the Junior World Cup has not been on par losing three out of the four games they have played in.

They lost 44-11 to New Zealand in the opening pool game and also went down 31-3 against Wales in the second game.

The Fiji Under 20 side’s only win was a close 15-12 victory over Samoa.

They will now play Wales next Tuesday to decide who will finish in 7th and 8th place in the Under 20 World Cup.

In the cup final, defending champion New Zealand will meet with Australia.
