Villagers in the 21 districts within the Ba province have started to put into practice village bylaws which would become a law and be legalized by the year 2011.

This was revealed by the chairman of the Ba Provincial Council Ratu Meli Saukuru which was discussed in the Bose ni Momo last week and will be a point of discussion in the one day Provincial Council meeting tomorrow.

The Taukei Navo said it is good to notice villagers restrict their time of kava drinking and also the dress code is being followed by the women and young girls to wear proper attire in the village.

He said that is a sign of respect.

Ratu Meli said it is noticeable to see men in some villages cut down on drinking kava and go back to their homes to sleep before the early hours of the morning.

Ratu Meli said the chiefs were grateful to hear the presentation by Colonel Apakuki Kurusiga on the village bylaws during the Bose ni Momo last week.

The meeting tomorrow will be held at the Hotel 2000 in Lautoka and will be opened by the Commissioner Western Colonel Joeli Cawaki.
