Ba to Submit GCC Proposal Next Week
Former GCC chairman Ratu Ovini Bokini said that in his capacity as the high chief of the Vanua of Bila, he was not part of the group of chiefs from the Ba province that supports the GCC review.
According to the Tui Tavua, the statement made by the GCC Review Team secretary Ratu Josateki Nawalowalo that the Ba province is behind the review of the GCC role is misleading as they will submit their proposal next week.
Ratu Ovini believes that any review regarding the GCC should only be carried out by a democratic elected government.
Meanwhile, chiefs from the Ba province that have shown their support to the GCC Review Team includes the Tui Ba, Ratu Sairusi Nagagavoka and Taukei Sawaieke Ratu Tevita Momoedonu, the traditional spokesperson of his Excellency, the President Ratu Josefa Iloilo.
