Defending champions of the Inkk Mobile Battle of the Giants soccer tournament Ba lacked depth in its striking force against Rewa yesterday and this is the area coach Farouk Janeman will be working on as the Men in Black now face a mammoth task to reach the semifinals.
Ba went down to Rewa 2-1 in its opening match at the TFL National Stadium yesterday and now need to win against teams like Navua and Labasa.
Janeman has also confirmed to Fijivillage that star striker Josaia Bukalidi will not feature for the Men in Black and this will mean that Isimeli Naresia and Tuimasi Manuca will get the nod to start as top choice strikers.
He added that Ba should not be counted out as yet.
In other matches yesterday, Lautoka beat Nasinu 2-0, Nadroga and Suva drew 1-all while Labasa and Navua drew nil-all.
The tournament officially starts at Nadi's Prince Charles Park this Thursday with Lautoka playing the first match at 5.30pm against Nadroga.
