Ba came from behind to beat Nadi 2-1 in the first semifinal of the Inkk Mobile Battle of the Giants soccer tournament at Govind Park.

Ba’s Junior Narendra Rao was the saviour when he scored in the 43rd minute of the second half to bring the Men in Black back into the game and forced the match to go into extra time.

The hosts were awarded a penalty in the second spell of the extra time when Meli Codro was brought down inside the penalty box.

Malakai Rakula confidently took the kick from the spot to score the winner for the Men in Black.

Nadi had surprised all when Munit Krishna showed his individual brilliance and broke through from outside the penalty box after he stole the ball from Ba midfielder Ravneet Chand to put the ball in between Ba goalkeeper Misiwane Nairube’s legs to give Nadi a 1-0 lead in the 13th minute of the second half.

Munit Krishna had to go out of the field after a serious injury that created a gap in the Nadi midfield.

The second semifinal between Suva and Rewa will kick off at 7pm tomorrow at Ratu Cakobau Park and you can catch the live commentary of this match on our sister station Radio Sargam.
