Soccer giants Ba will be out to reclaim the prestigious Pillay's Garments Champion vs Champion (CVC) title for a record 16th time.

The 2010 CVC series starts next Wednesday with defending champions Ba hosting Lautoka in the opening match.

Since the inception of the CVC series in 1993, Ba won for a record 14 times in a row from 1994 to 2008 before losing out to Labasa in 2008.

Labasa had also won the first ever CVC title which was played in 1993. But The Men In Black recaptured the title last year after edging Lautoka.

Under the new format, IDC and Fiji Fact champions Navua, B.O.G winners Ba and National League winner Lautoka will be part of this year's competition.

Fiji FA chief executive Bob Kumar said the inclusion of a third team is a major boost to the series and take the competition to a new level.

The opening match between Ba and Lautoka next week will be played at 7pm at Govind Park.
