The Ba soccer team defeated Dreketi 1-0 in the first game of day 3 of the Vodafone Fiji Fact at Subrail Park.
Maveliko Nakama scored the lone goal of the match as Ba ended the game with 9 players after Samuela Kautoga and Avinesh Suwamy were red carded.
Ba could have extended their lead but Dreketi goalkeeper Shaneel Naidu saved Laisenia Raura's penalty in the second half.
Ba now will have to wait and hope that Nadi beats Rewa by two goals or more to have any chance of qualifying from pool one.
Nadi is the first team to qualify for the Vodafone Fiji Fact semifinals after shocking Ba 2‑0 in their second pool match.
Nadi has 6 points from 2 games to lead pool 1, Rewa is second with 4 points but better goal average while Ba sits in third place with 4 points.
Lautoka leads pool 2 with 6 points after 2 wins, Labasa is second with 3 points.
Suva also has 3 points and they are currently leading Nadroga 2-0 in the second game of day 3.
Nadroga has not won a game yet in this pool but if they beat Suva with a good score line and if Lautoka beats Labasa then the Stallions could qualify for the semifinals.
Rewa will take on Nadi at 4.30pm and the last match of the pool play will see Labasa face Lautoka at 6.30pm.
