The Ba soccer team created yet another history yesterday when they clinched their 76th title in Fiji soccer after winning the 2010 National soccer league title.
The Men in Black needed maximum points from yesterday’s encounter against Navua and the 2-1 win for Ba was enough for the true Champions of Fiji soccer to register their name once again in the history books.
It was Isimeli Naresia who broke the deadlock midway in the first half as Avinesh Waran Swamy put the nail in the coffin in the second half through a penalty.
Navua tried hard in the last 15 minutes and managed a consolation through striker, Joseph Mishra.
Ba soccer President, Rishi Kumar stressed after the win that it was not easy for Ba to win the league as the Men In Black lost more than 12 senior players since start of the season.
Ba walked away with $15,000 after winning the league title yesterday and according to Kumar, the team will hold celebrations after the Courts IDC.
Meanwhile, in other National soccer league games yesterday, Tavua thumped Labasa 7-0 and Suva beat the Under 20 2-0 yesterday.
