Ba has won the first match of the Pillay Garments Champion vs Champion Series against Suva 5-3 at the ANZ Stadium.
Ba took an early lead in the 1st minute of the first half when Shameel Rao scored a thrilling goal.
Their second goal came from Abbu Zahid after he scored in the 7th minute.
Antonio Tuinivuna scored Suva’s first goal in the 30th minute leaving the score at 2-1 at the break.
Suva started the scoring in the second spell when Nikil Chand and Noa Vukica scored a goal each to give Suva a 3-2 lead for first time in the match.
The Men in Black came back and scored a convincing goal through Jone Vesikula to level the scores at 3-3.
Avinesh Swami gave Ba the lead when he scored in the 28th minute putting the score at 4-3.
Saula Waqa then sealed the victory for Ba in the 45th minute of the second half when he scored the last goal of the match.
Now that Ba has won the first match of the Pillay Garments Champion vs Champion Series they will only need a draw in their second match to win the series.
However, Suva will need to score 4 clear goals in their second match to win the series for the first time.
