The Vodafone Ba soccer team suffered a huge setback with a day remaining for the start of the Fiji Bitter Fact.
One of its top defender Malakai Kanahawe's 5-month-old baby passed away last night, which could rule him out of the tournament, as The Men In Black gun for their 5th straight victory.
Ba team spokesman, Pravin Bala said they are now arranging for the funeral service.
Bala said this is a sad occasion for the players and the team and they will not force Kanahawe to play for them this weekend.
Vodafone Ba will play their opening match against Rewa on Thursday at 6.15pm at Prince Charles Park.
