Businesses in Ba said that majority of the shops have lost up to 90 percent of all their stock, apart from sustaining major damages to other assets in the flash floods.
Owner of Raman Lal and Sons, Bharat Raman Lal said they are trying to sell off the damaged items to recover some of the losses, however it may take about 6 months to get back on their feet.
Bhika Bai and Company, who manufacture and supply sweets and confectionary's also suffered extensive damages.
One of the Directors, Jayesh Lad said they have no choice but to start re-building on their own.
Meanwhile, DISMAC has clarified that more than 7,000 people are still taking shelter at 118 evacuation centres around the country.
DISMAC officer Laisenia Naitele said the latest update shows that a lot more evacuation centres are still active.
