BSP has today confirmed that they have retrieved an ATM skimming device from one of their ATMs.

Fijivillage.com has been following this issue for the past few days as many people have raised concern about an email circulating about the skimming device.

BSP stresses that this was an isolated incident.

The bank says it is conducting inquiries and will take appropriate action.

BSP says the communication that is being circulated is a normal inter‑bank security alert intended only for other banks' technical teams.

BSP says the security of their customers and other bank customers using their banking network is paramount and they have an ongoing process of checking ATMs for such devices.

Police spokesperson, Ana Naisoro says no official complaint has been lodged by BSP for police to investigate this matter.

We have asked BSP why no police report has been filed as yet. The bank says it will stick to the statement made this afternoon.
