The Fiji Rugby Union has decided to change the format of the popular BP 7's series this season, and instead of golding a series of tournaments around the country, the plan is to hold just two major events in January.

In a statement this afternoon, FRU CEO, Ratu Timoci Tavanavanua said that it has been a very long year with the Rugby World Cup, and they will keep November and December free and organise a Fiji National 7's for 12th January in Lautoka.

Also, the Fiji Rugby Awards will be held on Saturday 1st December, following the FRU's Special General Meeting.

Meanwhile, DIGECEL FIJI 7'S COACH JOSATEKI SAVOU HAS NAMED 10 NEW CAPS IN THE 15 member squad to prepare for the opening leg of the IRB 7's series in Dubai and George.

The team that has been announced in the forwards Sakenasa Aca, Isei Lewaqai, Viliama Maya, Rupeni Nasiga, Iliesa Ratuva and Epeli Vuniwaqa. In the back-line Setefano Cakau, Vereniki Goneva, Tomasi Mawi, Akuila Nawerecagi, Saimoni Nuku, Taniela Rawaqa and Emosi Vucago.

Fiji is in Pool B in the Dubai 7's with Argentina, Zimbabwe and Australia. The Dubai 7's is on the 30th of November and the 1st of December. Fiji plays Argentina in their opening pool match on the 30th of November.
