The Nadi Town Council has clarified today that the $110,000 gate takings from the Battle of the Giants Soccer tournament which was earlier reported to have been misappropriated was used by the council to maintain its cash flow.
Special Administrator, Aisea Tuidraki has confirmed that the money was not misused as earlier reported but was used by the council.
Tuidraki said they have made an arrangement with the Fiji Football Association to pay back the money.
Fiji FA Chief Executive, Bob Kumar when contacted this morning has confirmed the arrangement saying that they have received one payment and are awaiting the balance.
The Battle of the Giants Soccer tournament was held at Nadi's Prince Charles Park in August.
