The axing of two top players from Lautoka soccer squad has not dampen the spirit of other players, as they prepare to take on Marist FC in their opening match of the 2009-2010 O-League.
Goalkeeper Alifereti Baleiloa and striker Valerio nawatu were dropped from the squad and investigation is underway as they are alleged to have been bribed in the IDC final against Navua, which Lautoka lost 2-0.
Lautoka soccer acting president Krishna Chandra said they won't be missing the services of Baleiloa and Nawatu in today's match.
Lautoka and Marist FC match will kickoff at 4pm today at the Lawson Tama Stadium.
Meanwhile, Hekari United and Tafea FC played to a 3-all draw in the opening O-league game yesterday.
