The Health Ministry has met with the Education Ministry officials to raise awareness on Influenza H1N1 virus in schools.

The Acting Deputy Secretary for Public Health, Doctor Josaia Samuela said schools have been told to advise the teachers to check the students every morning and afternoon to see if any student is sick.

He said the Education Ministry has told all the teachers to inform parents if any student is sick and he is calling on parents not to send their children to school if they have flu like symptoms.

Meanwhile, the CWM hospital is doing an audit to see how prepared they are for this virus.

Fiji has not received any confirmed cases of H1N1 so far.
