The rugby league players who are playing in the NRL and Super League competition will have an automatic qualification into the Fiji Bati 24 man squad for the Rugby League World Cup.

Fiji National Rugby League Team Manager Mesake Navugona said they have identified 18 of these players and are now just waiting for their confirmation.

Some of the players include, Jason Bukuya, Kevin and Wes Naiqama, Lote Tuqiri, the Sims brothers, Ashton, Korbin, Tariq, Sisa Waqa, Akuila Uate, Marika Koroibete, Semi Radradra, John Sutton and Petero Civoniceva.

Navugona said if 16 of these players confirm their place, then the other players that will make up the 24 member squad will be picked from the Battle of the Bati trial.

The battle of the Bati kicks off next Monday while the 24 member squad for the rugby league world cup will be named on the 19th of this month.

Meanwhile, Fiji is pooled with England, Australia and Ireland for the Rugby League World Cup which will be held next month.
