30-year-old Australian golfer Steven Dartnell has made a strong start in the Fiji International Golf Championship as he currently leads in the first round with four under par and a total score of 68.

In his first tournament in Fiji, Dartnell said he was lucky enough to take the lead as the first round continues.

Fiji’s Vijay Singh made a slow start to the tournament recording one under par after the first round.

He is currently in 16th place.

Former World number one Nick Price is currently starting his round after teeing off from the first hole.

The Fiji International Golf Championship continues in Natadola today and will end on Sunday.

The Winner will walk away with $US1 million.
