The Fiji National Provident Fund board members were briefed this morning by an Australian External Auditor, Richard Rassi with regards to an independent assessment of the Fund.

Rassi was hired by the Fund to assist them in choosing an auditor for the Pension fund.

He revealed that a total of three local firms have applied for the post of auditor however only one will be chosen in one week's time.

Rassi briefed the board on his final draft report however the board will make a decision in a week's time.

Three firms produced their tenders today.

A decision to have an auditor was made following the million dollar write down of various FNPF assets to reflect its true value.

The Auditor is expected to take office soon.
