Interim Prime Minister, Commodore Frank Bainimarama has revealed for the first time that the Chief of the Australian Defence Forces had threatened him just days before December 5th, 2006.
Commodore Bainimarama has hit out at the Australian Foreign Minister, Alexander Downer for saying that they never intended to use military force against Fiji.
Bainimarama said he received a call from the Australian Defence Force Chief that proves that there were plans to send troops to Fiji.
Bainimarama said it was also evident just days before December 5th that the Australian troops had some plans in the pipeline.
Australia Foreign Affairs Minister, Alexander Downer had earlier brushed aside allegations that the Australian government had intended to order Australian troops to enter Fiji's territory and intervene during the December 5th takeover.
