It was a great weekend for Australian sports as the Reds won the Super Rugby title for the first time while Australia successfully defended the World Netball Championship title in the dying seconds of extra time against New Zealand in Singapore.
Australia has retained its WNC title beating the Silver Ferns 58-57 in the final last night.
Australia’s goal shooter Chelsay Pitman said they played their game and that was the difference in the extra time.
The Silver Ferns had the upper hand in the first half of the match, leading by seven goals at one stage.
New Zealand had opportunities to inch ahead in the dying moments but when the final whistle blew the Australians were one ahead.
Meanwhile, the Fiji Netball team finished 10th in the Championship.
