Australian Sevens Head Coach Geraint John has named an unchanged 12‑man squad for this week's South Africa Sevens.

Australia head to Port Elizabeth with renewed optimism after reaching the Cup Final in last weekend and jumping four places to third in the overall standings.

John said he was delighted with the way his team played in Dubai and is looking to improve on its recent record with seventh the best finish recorded since the 2002/2003 World Sevens Series.

Australia currently sits third on 29 points while Fiji is leading with 39 points.

Australia is drawn in pool B with Argentina, Portugal and Zimbabwe.

The South Africa 7's kicks off this Saturday with Fiji taking on France at 9.30pm.

They will then face Canada at 12.45am Sunday before meeting Scotland at 6.26am Sunday.

The cup quarterfinals will start at 12.03am Monday, the semifinals will be held at 3.39am while the cup final will be staged at 6.30am Monday.
