The Australian Socceroos are now ruing the loss of their key man in their 1-all draw with Ghana this morning.

Though the win means that their hopes of making it into the Top 16 means, the sending off of Harry Kewell who was shown a red card and sent off in Australia's one all draw against Ghana after a handball which stopped a definite goal.

Australia star Harry Kewell said he didn't deserve to be sent off in the Socceroos' draw against Ghana.

Jonathan Mensah's drive hit Kewell   standing on the goal line to defend a corner   on the upper arm, and Italian referee Roberto Rosetti pointed to the penalty spot, pausing only to dismiss Kewell.

Asamoah Gyan converted from the spot, but Australia fought valiantly with 10 men for over an hour to secure a thrilling 1 1 draw.

And after the game, Kewell told reporters the red card decision was harsh.

"Everyone that's seen it is saying 'OK, fair enough, it's a penalty'.

But was it deliberate? Of course, I’ve never been that way inclined," he said.

His dismissal left the team to battle with just 10 men for the second consecutive game.

Australian midfielder Tim Cahill was sent off in their first group game against Germany and missed the Ghana match.

In other results played last night Netherlands beat Japan 1-nil and the game that just finished, Denmark beat Cameroon 2-1.

The loss means that Cameroon is out of the FIFA World Cup.
