The Australian government today granted $177,290 to the Pacific Conference of Churches for training programs that will enhance community knowledge of human rights.

High Commissioner James Batley and General Secretary of the Pacific Conference of Churches Feiloakitau Tevi, signed the Memorandum of Understanding.

Batley said the training workshop will enable the church leaders and members to promote awareness and knowledge in their communities, on issues of human rights, good governance and the rule of law.

The project will also develop a module study on human rights for regional seminaries and theological colleges.
