A Savusavu based resort which has been operating for the last seven years said the Australian and New Zealand media have painted a negative picture of Fiji and this has affected the tourism industry.
Jean Michel Cousteau resorts General Manager Greg Taylor said their business has been good since they started their operations in Fiji, however things have changed this year.
Taylor added they have no problems with the new wage rate that has been implemented for the hotel and catering industry as they have been paying their workers well above the minimum wage rate.
A 35 cents across the board increase has been made to workers hourly rate in the hotel and catering industry.
