The Australian High Commission last night recognized the work of Australian volunteers in Fiji carrying out duties in the various sectors of the economy.

37 Volunteers from Australia are currently in Fiji and are working under two programs which mainly focus on reducing poverty, providing health and education services, promoting human rights and gender quality.

Voluntary programs In-country Manager, Daniel Taufaga while acknowledging the work of the volunteers, stressed their work is mainly in line with Australian Government priorities and the Millennium Development Goals.
