The Fiji Human Rights Commission (FHRC) said the Australian Blackhawk helicopter intervention in Fiji waters, is a breach of Fiji's Air Navigation Regulation Law.

Commission chairperson Doctor Shaista Shameem said the helicopter was within the vanua sector, which is the limit of Fiji's airspace without informing the Air Traffic Control in Nadi and Nausori.

She said the Fiji government has two ways to deal with the matter, and one is to talk to the Australian government about it.
